ASTRO is a broadly scoped series of contract vehicles encompassing virtually all services supporting or involving manned, unmanned, or optionally manned platforms and robotics.

ASTRO is administered by the General Services Administration’s (GSA) Office of Assisted Acquisition Service (AAS) FEDSIM Organization. It is a family of ten separate, individual, Multiple Award (MA), Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts. ASTRO orders may only be placed by authorized COs within GSA’s Assisted Acquisition Service.

Aviation Training Consulting, LLC (ATC) wins a highly competitive seat on the Multiple Award (MA), Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Department of Defense ASTRO contract for services related to manned, unmanned, and optionally manned platforms and robotics.

The ASTRO award is a 10-year contract administered by the General Services Administration (GSA), Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), Assisted Acquisition Service (AAS), Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (FEDSIM). Although no monetary value was assigned at the time of the award, it is thought that future ASTRO contracts could total in the billions. To compete for a coveted seat on the ASTRO vehicle, ATC and other large and small businesses proposed to 10 designated service areas encompassing contracts based on land, sea, air, or space.

ATC competed with 47 other companies to provide services in the designated Mission Operations Pool supporting mission performance. The range of services ATC can contend to provide in the future include Air Drop Operations, Air Traffic Management, Manned and Unmanned Cargo Transportation, and Search and Rescue Operations. Only companies awarded a spot on the ASTRO IDIQ may complete for future contracts.

ATC holds a seat in the Mission Operations Pool, which includes performance of operational services not included in data operations associated with manned, unmanned, and optionally manned systems, robotics, and platforms supporting mission performance. This includes traditional labor services as well as “as a service” support.
